Met Council is America’s largest Jewish non-profit organization dedicated to fighting poverty.
They create pathways from crisis to self-sufficiency for more than 325,000 clients each year through comprehensive social services, including affordable housing, crisis intervention, family violence services, benefits access, senior and Holocaust survivor services.
In recent years, they have dramatically expanded their services to meet the needs of their clients, with their food program alone currently serving more than 150,000 people each month through their emergency food network of nearly 200 pantries.
In November 2025 phase one of their Brooklyn warehouse renovation project was completed and Met Council officially opened their new state of the art pantry and warehouse at Preston Court, calling it Americas first AI warehouse and pantry spanning 22,000 sq ft.
This state of the art facility will allow the nonprofit organization serve 2,500 people a month and a staggering 225,00 per year.
The design includes a new office mezzanine, entry sequence, refrigeration units, and a dedicated zone for retail customers who regularly visit the building. A key aspect of the construction logistics plan was to ensure that the warehouse was able to maintain operations throughout the duration of construction.
